The company “Orgelbau Waltershausen GmbH” is concerned with building,
restoring, repairing and taking care of all kinds of pipe organs.
Originally our team of organ builders was primarily dedicated to the
preservation and restoration of organs in Thuringia.
Our newly acquired understanding of historical organ building, which we
gained from the restoration of many historic instruments, has greatly
influenced the way in which we build our new organs and forms the basis of
their character. Gradually we have enlarged our range of activity beyond
our home in central Germany to include Hesse and the other bordering
states.
Our workshop is equipped with machine rooms, bench rooms, assembly rooms,
rooms for making metal pipes and an intonation room. We are equipped for
all kinds of work on organs of every size, including the production of
reeds. Our production is all hand work; every order is carried out
individually. There are no series productions or fixed models. This is one
of the main reasons why our work is so stimulating.
